As for the parents thing, he could resolve that without resorting to murder. Just have rotating members of the JLA guard his house, if anyone sees anything they call him, he'll hear it then contact the Flash, who'll get there lickity-split.

I'm not familiar with the first scenario, did he kill, then?

And Doomsday was, for all intents and purposes, an animal. And since Supes isn't a vegetarian or pacifist, let's say non-intelligent life doesn't count. Plus Doomsday didn't die.

Yeah, he used gold kryptonite to strip them of their powers but couldn't risk they would get them back so he used green kryptonite to kill them.
