I don't know why everyone's complaining about there going to be too many Avengers books. There isn't going to be anymore than there are now and X-men has like 15 if you count Cable, the Wolverine books, and X-men First Class. That's not even including the three Deadpool titles or the mini-series or one-shots. Three or four Avengers books doesn't really seem like a lot to me and I'd much rather have them than to have characters be put on the shelf and hardly used. It looks like McKone is drawing that picture so if he's drawing Avengers Academy then I'm all for it because I love his work.
Wow, good eye...Avengers Acadamy's creative team is Christos Gage and Mike McKone.

i agree with thomas tho its the same # of books just them being reformatted for the "new" marvel so idk y thered be any complaints about that really. no one seemed to mind when the intiative launched along side avengers n new avengers. as long as the books themselves are well written what does it really matter anyways? and with the creative teams behind the relaunch thats probably whats gonna go down.

It's too many books basically about the same thing. Same with X-Men, like I said already. Why not try something else? Magic characters, more of the gods, some other heroes, anything. Why more Avengers?

thats just it its not more avengers it the same amount as before and besides look at how the other team books aside from thunderbolts, fantastic four and x men books are quality and sales wise like shazzy point out its all about them green backs.more diversity wouldnt suck but i think itd just clutter thigns up at this point with such huge emphasis on the avengers, the hulk, x men and all the craziness at the moment.
besides think about this siege is focused on the thor mythos yeah the avengers and all that are in it but dude its gonna reunite thor, cap and iron man if that isnt a reason to be jazzed about more avengers idk what is. and at the same time characters like balder and the warriors three are getting mad face time as well
also think about the current state of the greek gods between phobos being acknowledged as a god, ares and most the other gods getting wiped out and all that its clearly a part of a plan to revamp the greek pantheon as its been. those guys are freakin gods dude they arent staying dead, its just not gonna happen and i doubt their comeback will come w/o much emphasis.

How is McKone not an A-list artist? He's a big reason that Exiles and Teen Titans had such good starts and Exiles last more than 100 issues and Teen Titans is still going strong.

The occasional team up is fine but to me Spidey has always kinda been the outcast type, he was the kid who never really fit in anywhere. It's part of whats made him the hero I can most relate to. Even when he's saving them the general public wanted nothing to do with him and having him as an accepted member fitting in with a team takes away from that.

ya know everyone seems to be forgetting the fact that New Avengers ISNT Spidey's first time as an avenger the longest run yet but this shit aint nothin knew. not to mention hes serve on other teams as well New Warriors, Secret Defenders, hell he even lead Ghost Rider, Hulk and Wolverine on a mission once. not to mention Spidey being a New Avenger is easily one of the best things action, art and dialogue wise the New Avengers book has going for it since he joined
and the loner stuff, thats mostly peter parker not actually Spider-Man, i mean yeah he's the odd ball cracking jokes too often and being all defensive about his identity and all that jazz but hes generally accepted and respected by the hero community.
i fully agree wolverine shouldnt be an avenger he's even said himself hes not the kind of guy who should be seen in public with the team. plus theres so much shit going on in the X books y the hell do they even need to include him in New Avengers? theyve got more than enough manpower to get shit done w/o him.
Logan should go, Spidey should stay

It's all business. Wolverine and Spidey are arguably the most popular and loved Marvel characters. So when you're putting together what's going to be your poster team of heroes for Marvel, The Avengers, how could you even consider not putting your two most popular, loved, and money making characters?
Business aside though, I always thought having Wolverine was unnecessary. He has enough shit going on that he'd seem too busy. I like to think of him being consumed with finding Romulus. Between that and X-Force it leaves me wondering how he has the time to bust heads with the Avengers.
But for Spidey, I mean really? No? C'mon! No one deserves to be an Avenger any more than him. He should a permanent member from now on. Being on the Avengers actually gives him the chance to live up to his potential.

i agree with thomas tho its the same # of books just them being reformatted for the "new" marvel so idk y thered be any complaints about that really. no one seemed to mind when the intiative launched along side avengers n new avengers. as long as the books themselves are well written what does it really matter anyways? and with the creative teams behind the relaunch thats probably whats gonna go down.
I don't care if it is the same # of books as b4, it's too many imo.
Also, I have little idea about current Marvel, so I don't know what's happening with any of the gods or pretty much anyone else, either.
I WAS excited about the REAL Avengers getting back together. Until I found out Wolvie & Spidey are still on the team... Stupid.
They CAN make other concepts work, but they've gotta advertise it right. & make a good book, of course...
I can see why people could not like Wolverine on the Avengers but I can never understand why no one wants Spider-man to finally be on a team after all those years having to go it alone for the most part. Hell if Batman, Mr. Anti-Social, can be on a team for a lot of his career then why can't Peter finally get to fight crime with his friends?
I don't know about everyone else, but this is why I don't want Spider-Man on any team.
For me I'm tired of everyone shitting on Spider-man 40+ years is enough it's about time people start giving him some respect. Being on the same team as Cap and the rest of the Avengers proves to the Marvel U dipshits who are always treating Spider-man as their whipping boy that he's a true hero who deserves their respect and that they were wrong about him.
ya know everyone seems to be forgetting the fact that New Avengers ISNT Spidey's first time as an avenger the longest run yet but this shit aint nothin knew. not to mention hes serve on other teams as well New Warriors, Secret Defenders, hell he even lead Ghost Rider, Hulk and Wolverine on a mission once. not to mention Spidey being a New Avenger is easily one of the best things action, art and dialogue wise the New Avengers book has going for it since he joined
and the loner stuff, thats mostly peter parker not actually Spider-Man, i mean yeah he's the odd ball cracking jokes too often and being all defensive about his identity and all that jazz but hes generally accepted and respected by the hero community.
i fully agree wolverine shouldnt be an avenger he's even said himself hes not the kind of guy who should be seen in public with the team. plus theres so much shit going on in the X books y the hell do they even need to include him in New Avengers? theyve got more than enough manpower to get shit done w/o him.
Logan should go, Spidey should stay
Like I said, team ups are one thing but he shouldn't be a permanent member of any team. He was a secret defender for like what? A day? And wasn't New Warriors Ben Reilly? The loner part has been part of Spider-Man too, he's always worked alone. Hasn't he passed up invitations to join the Avengers before? I'd rather people gave him the respect he deserved on his own rather than because he's part of the in crowd.
idk why I'm bitching tho, his solo series has been pretty much unaffected.
And of course Wolverine shouldn't be an Avenger. But since he seems to have the mutant ability to show up everywhere he'll probably be on every team forever.

I think Marvel reasoning for Wolvie in Avengers is $$$, and they think of him as their "Batman"....... Super popular, anti-social loner, but still works in a huge, public team.... If it works for Batman/JLA, why not Wolvie/Avengers?
