Did Loeb read any ultimate books before he wrote it? At all?
Storywise it is by far one of the worst comics that I have ever read. Ever. Not to mention that while Joe Mad!'s art is sweet, he didn't bother to pay attention that Ultimates costumes are different than 616. Yeah. wtf was up with ultimate Thor using a 616 looking Mjolnir?
Theres just so much wrong with ultimates 3 I don't even know where to begin. Towards the end of the arc, they showed that Thor had a bunch of different versions of Mjolnir. The 616 looking hammer was sitting right next to the Ultimate one. You know what's never made sense is that asgardians don't make more Uru weapons for their warriors. They made a hammer for Beta Ray Bill and a mace for Eric Masterson but they can't make some cool weapons for the Warriors Three, Balder, Heimdall, or Sif? ....actually thats a really good point They don't have cool thunder powers.

| The only time I've seen Thunderstrikes hammer since his death was in A Next when his son got it & it became part of him or whatever happened. Can't remember exactly. That's not very helpful since it's not in continuity... But it's what I know... | |

Well, I guess Odin must just think they're fags or something. Is that why Odin never acknowledged Balder as his son? But if they all had weapons, Thor would not be as badass by comparison. thats dumb of course Thor would still be bad ass by comparison he's fuckin Thor mang. No way man. If they all had weapons that controlled elements like Thor then Thor wouldn't be the most powerful anymore. Maybe if they were weaker weapons like Thomas suggests, but I think that would be more dumb to give them weapons and say, "Ya but Mjollnir is still more powerful" and it would just be a matter of time before they were as powerful. And then, absolutely, Thor would not look as baddass by comparison any longer, because wait...Balder is just as powerful as you are now. Balder should join the Avengers then. Why would Thor be so special now???

Power alone does not necessarily equate to badassery. Strength, skill, and experience would also factor into it (here, strength ≠ power) and in those areas Thor would still prove himself superior . . . And in case you're wondering so would Supes.

That and not to mention the could just give Thor more of the Odinforce and keep it that way... so you know... Doesn't matter how badass and Uruery their weapons will be... Thor = BRB >>> other Asgardians. I put it that way because I think BRB is a badass and needs to be used again damn it!!!

Ok well you have a point there, but it kind of adds to mine as well. I mean does Superman really seem so special still now that there's a whole planet again of people capable of the same things? Now, ok, ok, Supes has the experience and skill, yadda yadda yadda, but between the Kryptonians and Superman clones, Superboy, Supergirl, Prime, Hank Henshaw, and Krypto ffs, he doesn't really stand out that much to me anymore. I was never a huge fan to begin with. I have gone on record with friends before saying, "Fuck Superman." I would not want to see the same trend as Superman happen to Thor. NO THOR CLONES. Thor is special, therefore, he gets the badass weapon to control lightning. No water controlling swords, or earth moving maces or fire shooting bows and arrows, please. Although it sounds cool and awesome, I don't want all the Asgardians to have similar powers to Thor.

No water controlling swords, or earth moving maces or fire shooting bows and arrows, please. Although it sounds cool and awesome, I don't want all the Asgardians to have similar powers to Thor. Well it depends on what you mean by "special." If your definition is "totally and completely unique," then, no. Superman isn't anymore, but I don't think that hurts him as a character (more on that later.) And, I hate to break it to you, but Thor already isn't that special. I mean, from your interpretation it sounds like being a major God with a special weapon makes him unique. But, let's be honest, Gods have special weapons out the ass. I mean, let's totally disregard all the other Asgardians, for a second, since they apparently don't qualify as "special." Thor had the fucking Thor Corps. He had a team of knockoffs who actually named themselves. And don't forget Throg! Throg will give Krypto a run for his money any day of the week. Now lemme ask you, does knowing about Thunderstrike, BRB, Throg, Dargo Thor, and whoever else got an ancient Norse weapon with their happy meal make Thor any less special to you? Probably not. Mainly because Thor's the original and the best. Just like how there's a planet full of Kryptonians but Supes is the one on Braniac's ship about to kick his ass.* And, since were' back to Superman . . . Remember all those Superman comics from the 90s after the re-launch where they got rid of Supergirl and Krypto? Prior to Superboy's debut? When Byrne said he didn't want any Kryptonians in the supporting cast because it made him less special? Remember all those really great memorable comics that followed his run? Nah? But now we have Kara and Krypto back plus a new Superboy and, oh yeah, an entire planet full of Kryptonians and sales on Superman books are great. Man . . . Eh. To me, that's kind of like saying: "If there's a planet full of people Kryptonians with all the same powers, now, whats so special about Superman?"
Power alone does not necessarily equate to badassery. Strength, skill, and experience would also factor into it (here, strength ≠ power) and in those areas Thor would still prove himself superior . . . And in case you're wondering so would Supes. I have gone on record with friends before saying, "Fuck Superman."
I would not want to see the same trend as Superman happen to Thor.
Well it depends on what you mean by "special." If your definition is "totally and completely unique," then, no. Superman isn't anymore, but I don't think that hurts him as a character (more on that later.)
And, I hate to break it to you, but Thor already isn't that special.
Just like how there's a planet full of Kryptonians but Supes is the one on Braniac's ship about to kick his ass.*
And, since were' back to Superman . . Nah? *Last Stand of New Krypton # 1 - Truffle Lovin' TB Speaking of the Superman family it still pisses me off that the Linda Danvers Supergirl got shit on when they reintroduced Kara. I mean I love Kara she's an awesome character but I hate it when they toss a great character aside because they're too lazy to find a way to work them in. Now they've got her damned in hell, that's bullshit. How many great characters have been killed off because they don't need them anymore?

*Last Stand of New Krypton # 1 - Truffle Lovin' TB Ok, well all that's true. In the end, Thor and Superman are very similar. I just tend to dismiss the Thor clones because they haven't been as prominent as of late. Whereas the Superman clones have been and pretty much always will be. I just like don't like the idea of cloning characters in general.

I just like don't like the idea of cloning characters in general. cloning in generally is typically pretty gay but there are a few exceptions. Superboy being the prime example imo, yeah hes half Superman but there 2 completely different characters. even there powers and how they work are different from each other. fact is how said clone are portrayed is what makes them good or bad as opposed to their origin. i think its more so how "junior" characters are used that should matter more so than who their role model is. if it wasn't for sidekicks we'd be out a shitload of good characters, teams and stories. oh yeah and BRB? totally a badass mofo no doubt about it.

Doesn't matter how badass and Uruery their weapons will be... Thor = BRB >>> other Asgardians.
I put it that way because I think BRB is a badass and needs to be used again damn it!!! what if they divided the Odinforce between the Asgardians?
