The major announcement coming out the Spidey panel involved the upcoming arcs in Amazing Spider-Man. The July arc introduces a brand new hunter: Kraven's Daughter! Marc Guggenheim pens the arc with Phil Jimenez on pencils. As the arc title alludes, the story introduces a new character taking over the Kraven name.
This makes me wonder whatever happened to his son??? He does have a son, too.

| Anyone read it? It's only been one issue, but I'm already gonna say it's easily the best issue of BND so far. Why? Because this is how Spider-Man's supposed to be.
JRjr on the art just feels like home. Especially for someone whose first experience with mainstream Marvel's Spider-Man was during the early JMS run with Romita.
Dan Slott is a great writer and he doesn't attempt any of that cringeworthy campy faux-Stan Lee dialogue that those other two guys (not Guggenheim) tried to get away with.
Hopefully we won't see anymore of those unremarkable "new" villains like Overdrive, Freak, and yet another Kraven kid. Mr. Negative and Menace I can live with. Negative's really just another Kingpin, but his own motives and ethics are left ambiguous, which I like. And Menace is yet another Goblin, but he/she has some obvious connection to MJ.

No. According to the Spidey team "no one" does. Absolutely no one. However they have hinted that MJ may know. She'd better, otherwise OMD retconned one of my favorite DeFalco stories.

| I really liked the issue as well. Slott did a great job and this is probably some of the best work I've seen JRjr do on a Spidey book in a looong time! I was glad to see JRsr doing a variant cover.
But, in my opinion, the best issue so far has been the Daily Bugle Extra one shot that came out two (?) weeks ago. The Hammerhead origin story was VERY good!

Was that the BND Extra with the lawsuit story? If so, I liked it too. I was willing to buy the whole OMD/BND premise. It made Spider-Man interesting (although I started reading after he revealed his identity) but I gotta ask, - Spoiler:
wouldn't've Norman Osborn known Spidey's identity from way before his marriage to MJ? Why was he playing the "you take his pictures cuz yur in cahoots card"?

| This story has been pretty good so far. I just hope that Eddie doesn't stay Anti-Venom or we'll be stuck with Gargan as Venom. | |

Yeah, it wasn't just the marriage that was retconned, despite what Joe says. Since Peter's identity is a secret to everyone alot of stories must have been retconned. In particular, the nature of Venom has changed, because before Brock learned Spider-Man's secret identity because Venom knew it.

In particular, the nature of Venom has changed, because before Brock learned Spider-Man's secret identity because Venom knew it. The retcon from OMD goes back farther than just the wedding. No one knows Pete's identity at this point and that suggests a really huge chunk of Spider-Man continuity has been retconned. So, to answer your question, Figga, Osborn played that "card" b/c he's not supposed to know Pete's identity. But the fact that Pete has gotten exclusive pics of Spidey for the DB over the years is public information.
