| More SpideyCasting Here's your chance to play the wallcrawler... kind of. October 15, 2010 http://movies.ign.com/articles/112/1128385p1.htmlby Scott Collura Just because the major roles of the Spider-Man reboot are now filled, that doesn't mean that the casting on the Sony comic adaptation has come to an end. Nope, there are still parts that need a'fillin, and all you "dark-haired Caucasian" boys out there, this may be your big chance at fame and adoration. Moviehole reports that Sony is looking for a young Peter Parker. The studio has put out a casting call for "a dark-haired Caucasian boy to play Peter Parker at age 4 to 6 years old. Ideally, the boy should look a little like Andrew Garfield, [the new Spider-Man]." The studio is also looking for a kid to play Billy Connors, the son of Dr. Curt Connors (a.k.a. the Lizard, who will be played by Rhys Ifans). Applicants need to be between 8 and 11 years old for that part. Scales are presumably not a requirement. | |

| Did anybody pick up and read Carnage the other week? The artwork is impressive and Zeb Wells is always good on a Spidey or SM related book. I'm really curious who the new host will be...better not be MJ or Flash | |

Yeah, sort of a favor. Spidey should still have the rune Loki gave him....Ohhhhhhhhh! I see where you might be going with this...hmmmmm. My favorite scene from that arc was Spidey and Loki sitting on the rooftop eating hot dogs.

| http://www.firstshowing.net/2010/11/04/martin-sheen-cast-as-uncle-ben-in-marc-webbs-new-spider-man/Now this superhero reboot is coming along quite nicely, if I might say. Heat Vision reports that 70-year-old Golden Globe winning actor Martin Sheen, last seen in Imagine That and Love Happens, has been cast in Marc Webb's Spider-Man reboot at Sony as the lovable Uncle Ben. I really hope I don't need to explain to anyone who Uncle Ben is, but if you need a recap, head over to Wikipedia. Sheen joins a cast that includes Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy and Rhys Ifans as, according to The Wrap, the villain known as The Lizard. Shooting on the new Spider-Man will start in December for a 2012 3D release. Spoiler: Sheen is probably going to be killed in this movie. Unless they somehow decide to twist and extend the story, so that doesn't happen until the sequel, but come on. I'm just making a joke, because we all know that Uncle Ben's "death at the hands of a burglar is the key event that turns Parker" into the heroic, friendly Spidey we all know and love. Since this news first hit, there have been debates on twitter about Sheen being a good choice, but I like him. He's a great actor who will bring plenty of charisma to this, which is definitely key. Now I wonder who they'll cast as Aunt May, as she is yet another very important Spider-Man character. Cliff Robertson and Martin Sheen also played President Kennedy. Last I heard, Sally Field was in talks to play Aunt May. | |

I think their casting choice for Uncle Ben in the previous movies was perfect but I'm not so sure about Martin Sheen.
