DC: Earth One

The gist of those links, for those short on time, are that DC's doing a new project next year called "Earth One," a series of re-imaginings of the origins of classic DCU characters, but in their own, collective continuity. They'll be released in the form of individual graphic novels. From the sound of it, it'll basically be DC's Ultimate universe and it sounds AWESOME.

Superman: Earth One will be done by none other than JMS and Shane Davis.

And Batman: Earth One? Wait for it . . . Geoff Johns and Gary Frank. WTF, right? The team that's currently updating the origin of Superman? They get Batman, too?

Interesting to see how JMS deals with Superman, I can't think of anything if he's written him before.

Holy shit, Alfred! I think Alfred's going to be my favorite character in this universe as he just looks like the most badass butler on the planet.

No, I have seen his badass-ness/osity before, but this Alfred just looks ridiculously badass.

I hope these become regular books, I'd deffs subscribe to Batman.

I wouldn't mind another costume for Supes, or some costume modifications for this story.

And I like that's it's a self contained kinda thing. Unlike Ultimate Marvel. I'd like 2 see more 'updating' for Supes costume too, tho'. Also, I never like yellow around the bat symbol. Ever.

What do you mean by "self contained?" That they're released as graphic novels and not in issues?

they're not ongoings that'll need a reboot somewhere down the line. And presumably you can read just 1.
